Free DNS/TLS monitoring

Domain stability affects website availability, SEO, and marketing campaigns. A DNS error or an expired SSL/TLS certificate can prevent users from accessing your website.

Our free service provides daily DNS and TLS monitoring as well as network state drift detection.

How does the service work?

Once a day, our auditing system performs a non-invasive technical check of your domain:

  1. DNS: checks A/AAAA records, name servers (NS), traffic sinkholes, and the domain status (DNS_ALIVE, DNS_NXDOMAIN, DNS_PARKED, DNS_TRANSIENT).
  2. TLS/HTTPS: verifies the SSL/TLS certificate on port 443, the protocol version (TLSv1.3/TLSv1.2), and handshake errors.
  3. State drift: compares the current state with the previous day. An alert is generated when a regression occurs, such as a change from HTTPS to HTTP or SERVFAIL errors from name servers.

What do we detect?

AreaWhat we detectImpact
SSL/TLSExpired certificates, missing secure connections, and handshake errors.Browsers may block access to the website.
DNSSERVFAIL, NXDOMAIN, missing address records, or no response from name servers. The website becomes unavailable to users and Google crawlers.
HTTPSHTTPS enforcement being disabled and traffic returning to HTTP.Search rankings may decline.
SinkholeIP records redirected to local addresses (127.0.0.1, 0.0.0.0).Email, services, and the website may stop working.

Alerts

The system sends notifications only when it detects a problem or recovery:

State Drift Alert: example.com stopped supporting HTTPS and returned to HTTP. Detected error: TCP_TIMEOUT on port 443 while DNS remains operational.
State Drift Recovery: example.com restored support for TLSv1.3. Domain status: DNS_ALIVE.

How do I activate the service?

The service is free for one primary business domain.

Contact us with your domain name. Connectivity Sentinel will take care of the monitoring.
